Verses 35-36Verses 33-34

REFORMERS ALWAYS ENCOUNTER WITH DIFFICULTY AND OPPOSITION. (VERSES NO. 33- 34)

There is no doubt that the prophet, who was frequently encountered with obstinacy and undue rejections of the heathens and pagans; would be grieved on that account, and many times God has given him consolation and spiritual comfort, in order to encourage him to endure patiently the resistances against his divine mission.

Here too, Allah says to His Messenger:

``We know well that what they say grieves you. You should know that they do not belie you, but it is my signs that they reject, and I am the object of their opposition and rejection, so you grieve not and stand firm in front of them.''

In order to complete the consolation the next verse implies: ``Other apostles before you were belied too! But they patiently endured the rejections and opposition. They were persecuted, but kept patient, until our help came to them.''

This verse alludes to a general principle, that all the righteous leaders of the society, when proceeded to do some reforms, in order to change the existing situation into a new or improved form or condition; they were encountered with many hardships and difficulties, created by a group of profiteers with illigal demands and unreasonable remarks, and of course none is so deaf as those who will not hear; and sufferance is the badge of all divine leaders.
