VERSES NO. 127 - 129

After the incident of Moses and magicians, a new party appeared in Egyptain Society who sought a reform in religion and morals. The pioneers of the reform were the Israelites leaded by Moses, who had now infused a fresh blood in them, and they were supported and sympathized by a group of Egyptains, who had tasted the bitter consequences of Pharaohs godship, and absolute authority and power. These too were earnestly willing to get rid of their hard situation created by Pharaoh's self- interest and egoism.

Such that social situation, had induced some sort of fear in Pharaoh's heart, to which we may add, the mysterious fear of the Lord of Moses and Aaron; which was ringing in his ears, since the sorcerers said:

``We believe in the Lord of the worlds- the Lord of Moses and Aaron.'' The said two sorts of fear prevented Pharaoh from taking a harsh decision against Moses and his followers for the time being. With such consideration he let them have a restricted freedom, though in his diplomatic plans and tricks, he took that limited freedom as a rope given them to hang themselves.

Pharaoh's order against the sorcerers was drastic, and his council and courtiers were pleased with their punishment but they were worried about Moses and his followers because in their sight they had seeming victory and they could be more mischievous than ever. They said to Pharaoh: ``Do you leave Moses and his people to cause troubles in the land, and to abandon you and your gods?!''

In fact, they appealed to Pharaoh's sense of power and his idolatry and superstitions, saying: ``If you leave alone these rebellious minority of people in our society, they will ruin everything, and soon your authority and your god will be defied!

Pharaoh who had an anxious mind of the ever increasing power of Moses, was encouraged by his advisors to act openly and more harshly against the Party of God. He therefore decided to renew his former male- infanticide order, that was issued before the birth of Moses, and this time more harshly! So he said to his companions:

``Soon shall we slay their sons, and leave alive their daughters, and we do have power over them.''

By such a decision he could destroy the man power and the warriors of the opposition; leaving their young girls for slavery, and working as maid servants and mistresses!

What an awful and evil decision - But man proposes and God disposes.
