Verses 37-40Verses 32-36

The above verses imply that the sail of the large and small ships, as large as hills or mountains, with the power of winds is among the signs of our Lord. Considering the ocean-going ships, which seem as big as mountains, sailing so stately in the ocean-lanes for the benefit of Mankind; will teach us spiritual lessons. And how miserable and helpless their crews can become when the ship is endangered by a furious wind, or when it becomes becalmed:-

``If He will, He makes the wind still; so that they become motionless on its back-verily there are signs in that for all the thankful patients.''

Think you not only of the ancient ships which moved on the sea by the power of the winds that, when the wind was still and these ships becalmed, the sailors felt to be so helpless and miserable amid the ocean. We should not forget that all the present day's engines too, cannot operate without the circulation of the air, and its mingling and mixing with the engine fuels. Therefore the wind which is nothing but the movement of the air, still plays a vital role in the movement of the sea-going or air freight ships.

After all, the direction and blowing of the wind is still a vital factor, to increase or decrease the speed and easy movement of any ship, large and small.

The extremely wide oceans, and the various densities of wood and water, and the natural laws and regulations that exist throughout the universe, like the one discovered by Archimedes on the hydrostatics; ``that a floating body apparently decreases in weight by an amount equal to that of the liquid it displaces.'' Are indeed among the signs of the All-knowing Creator of Man and earth.

The above verses also imply that, in spite of all the faculties and power that God has bestowed on Man, he still remains miserable and helpless in many simple phenomena that act against him; even a virus or a microb, and he finds himself in a serious need to be helped from overhead.

On the other hand, man cannot free himself from his chains and fetters, that are the inevitable consequences of his sins and faults, unless he adheres to repentance and obtaining God's forgiveness, to facilitate amendments for him. When we live in such conditions; we better have faith and act in a straight and righteous way, and leave our childish disputes aside.
