THE EXPLANATIONS FROM MAFURADAT:THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD IN ISLAMIC TRADITIONS.

As we already know the attributes of God are a part of His being and thus are interlinked as such. God is an entity who is complete knowledge, authority, ever living and eternal or God is glory personified and all attributes are gathered at one place.

It is due to our mental capacity that we speak of His attributes and His entity separately. If we look at it this way we find that some attributes have branches but this is because of our limited views e.g. God being all hearing and all –seeing are two of His famous attributes. The Qura’n has mentioned them more than ten times.

‘Samee’” means that which is heard about that are heard about God’s knowledge and words.

“Baseer” is all that which can be seen like the entire universe, men, and the deeds.

When these attributes are attached to mankind then you need two things ears and eyes through which you can hear and see but it is proven that when they are spoken for God then it will refute the existence of ears and eyes and the reality of knowledge will mean complete awareness of both as we will discuss under explanation.

After this brief introduction we return to Qura’n and pay heed to the following verses:

Surah Shura Verse 11:

Nothing whatsoever resembles Him and He is the all-hearing, the all-seeing.

Surah Nisaa Verse 58:

God commands you to render back your trust to those to whom they are due; and when you judge between the people you judge with justice: verily how excellent is the teaching that He gives you! God is He who hears and sees all things.

Surah Nisaa Verse 148

God does not love the shouting of evil words publicly, except by one who has been wronged for God is He who hears and knows everything.
