THESE EYES DO NOT HAVE THE CAPACITY TO SEE HIS GLORY CREATING SIMILITUDE IS THE GREATEST SIN.

Some non-existent attributes have already been discussed in our discussion on Oneness of His being which spoke about the simplicity of His being and refuted all kinds of similitude and components or partners about Him. We will discuss some very important issues that have a history of debates sand are now being discussed by scholars in the world.

One of them is that God does not have a physique or body, He cannot be seen, and there is no station or fixed place for Him. These three are dependently connected with each other. If God could be seen then He would definitely have had a body and a station. If He does not have a station, it means that He does not have a body and this in turn tells us that He cannot be seen.

It is not difficult to understand the term “God does not have a body” after we have understood the issue of “The Proof of God’s existence” but weak minded cannot come out of their four walls of senses. It seems that they have always tried to prove a body for the existence of God. This issue of God’s physique has been prevalent among the ancient people and some group of Muslims (Qashari and Mutahjar)

This is why Qura’n has vehemently refuted the idea of God having a body and a station. After this brief introduction we now turn to the Qura’n and study the following verses sincerely.

(1) Surah Anam Verse 103:

Vision cannot perceive Him while He perceives vision; He is the subtle the all-aware.

(2) Surah A’raf Verse 143:

“The Lord spoke to Moses when he came at the appointed time; he said, “ Lord show me Yourself so that I may see you”

the Lord said, “ You shall never see but look towards the mountain, you will see Me if it stays in its place” When the lord showed His glory on the mountain he turned it into dust and Moses fell down in a swoon and when he recovered his senses he said, “ Glory be to You! I turn to You in repentance and I am the first to believe.”

(3) Surah Nisaa Verse 153

The people of the book ask you to bring them a book from heaven; verily they demanded greater things from Moses than that for they said, “Show us God openly” and then a lightning struck them for their wickedness. Then they took a calf (as god) even after the clear signs had come to them, but We (still) pardoned them and bestowed a clear authority on Moses.

(4) Surah Furqan Verse 2:

Those who do not wish to meet us say, “Why have no angels been sent to us, nor have we seen our Lord?” Indeed they think too highly of themselves and great is the insolence of this impiety.
