Since the above mentioned verses have been attended to in other discussions, they have been explained so we will deal with only the important points at this juncture:

The first verse very clearly states: “He who has created them first will give them life.”

The word “Yuhii” ( will renew life in the rotten bones) is such a great proof of resurrection that had there been nothing else but only this verse then it would have been enough to prove the resurrection and we have already said that hundreds of verses give the news of resurrection.

The point to note is that this verse emphasizes the issue of this material body and not a body similar and not even a body in purgatory or a semi-material body.

In the second verse the idea of those who believed that God will not gather the decayed human bones and it is clearly stated, “No. we are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers.” This verse should be noted for its complete assertion about the physical resurrection.

The third verse repeats the words of the people of the Prophet Saleh. They used to address each other and criticize their prophet by saying, “Does He promise to bring you back to life after you have died and turned to bones and powdered dust?” They further said, “Far, very far is that which you have been promised.”

It clearly states that their prophet Saleh or HUD had promised them a physical resurrection and they vehemently opposed it and because of this they were subjected to severe punishment and were destroyed (As has been stated in verses of Sarah Hajj.)

The fourth verse speaks of the sinners (whose book of deeds will be given in their left hands because of their crimes). Qura’n criticizes them and says, “Is it possible for us to return after we die and turn into dust and bones?” This great criticism is the defense of the issue that decayed bones will again be alive.

The 5th verse speaks about a group of disbelievers and their punishment:

“This is their recompense because they rejected our signs and say, “shall we be raised up as a new creation after our being reduced to bones and pounded dust?”

We learn from this verse that those who disbelieve the physical resurrection are the people of Hell and this verse is a proof on this issue.

On the whole we concluded from the above verses that this material body will get a new life after having died.

1. The name of the prophet has not be been clearly specified in this verse. Some have taken the people to be that of Thamud the people of Saleh and some have taken them as the people of Aad the people of HUD but the punishment (The great shriek) seems fit for the people of Thamud.
