The objection of the criticsThe merging of the evident with the unseen

The third way is the logical interpretation for the mission of an apostle and this is done after the man has been educated and before he acts on the knowledge.

It is important for the teacher that he uses all the inherent qualities to educate and nurture and he should teach them about all the issues of, freedom, attributes, moral ethics and this cannot be done by any one but the apostles. They should be humans so that they may set examples and keep mankind away from sins and shame. They should also be able to reform the ways of mankind through their teachings.

In other words, there is something found inside man which is called “Mahakah” which means that man is able to decide after absorbing the conditions that he finds among the people. This is a natural talent that does not help dispel hardships but it is connected with authority that helps him decide.

This is the reason that god has sent the prophets and messengers with full knowledge among the people for them to teach the people and these teachings should be practical for they should reflect his capabilities. They should be the epitome of piety and truthfulness for men to emulate.

This is the reason the Qura’n has laid a great stress about the apostles being sent from amongst mankind. Had there been angels living on earth the apostles would have been angels too. This is the refutation of those who say that why aren’t the apostles from amongst the angels?

Verses 94 and 95 of Surah Isra say:

“What kept men back from belief when guidance came to them, was nothing but this: they said, “Has God sent a man (like us) to be (His) Messenger?” 95. Say, “If they were settled on earth, angels walking about in peace and quiet, We would certainly have sent them from the heavens, an angel for a Messenger.”

The term “Angels walking about in peace and quiet” means if the angels lived on earth then an angel would have been sent as a Messenger to them because they would benefit from their own kind. We should also note that this increases the status of the Messengers. This part takes us to spiritual perfection and closeness to God.

Another verse has also presented the same meaning against the objections raised by the polytheists. Verse 9 of Surah Anam says:

“Had We made him an angel, we would have certainly made him a man, and We would certainly have confused them in what they already are confused about.”

We should note that the Qura’n mentions all the prophets and Messengers together as an emphasis and is asking man to follow them in practice.

Verse 21 of Surah Ahzab says:

“Indeed there is for you in the Messenger of God an excellent pattern of conduct for him who places his hope in God and the latter day and remembers God much.”

Verse 4 of Surah Mumtahena says:

“Indeed for you there is a good example of Abraham and those with him.”

The sixth verse too has a similar meaning.

In short the issue of education and guidance is related to divine values logical conclusions piety.
