Verses 8-11Verses 4-7

THE RIGHTS OF A DIVORCED WIFE
VERSE NO 4-7
Three groups of women who are to take a divorce, are said here how to be treated.
Here, the rules to be observed is about the women with a terminated menstruation- the women who have had no menstruation yet; and those who are pregnant:-
``As to the women who have ceased menstruating and those who have no menstruation; their waiting period is three months if you think they might be pregnant.''
Generally, the waiting period is three monthly courses after separation. If the courses are doubtful, the waiting period shall be three calendar months to prove if there is a pregnancy. If she is proved to be pregnant they will have to wait until child-birth.
Such regulations are set for Men's own good. Following the commandments, God will solve most of our difficulties, and blot out the ill results of our sins.
The next verse includes more details about the rights of women after separation, as to her alimony and lodging:-
``Lodge them where you are lodging,in accordance with your facilities.''
It is natural that when lodging becomes incumbent upon the husband, subsistence too is among his obligation. In the probationary period before divorce, the wife must be provided on the same scale, as the husband is, according to his status in life.
If she is pregnant, there are added responsibility for both parents, in nursing and welfare of the child. Here, the father is more responsible, and the mother's love and care is also needed. They will have to cooperate through their mutual counsel.
