Verses 51-52Verses 46-50

DON'T HURRY FOR PUNISHMENT
VERSE NO. 46-50
Here is an irony that:-
``Does your preaching cost them a lot, for the reward of which you ask, it is hard for them to pay!?''
Our prophet never asked for a reward from any one for his preaching, and he was always suffering for their benefit too. He even did not wait for them to esteem the worth of his words and advices, and so must be, and so is every Man of God. Yet the unbelievers were not ever grateful for the guidance of Divine Preachers and Teachers.
The heathens and idolaters kept our prophet under such a pressure of their rude behaviours, that things were going to be apt for him to lose his patience and to curse them as NOAH did.
Through the above verses, Allah enjoined His Messenger to be patient and wait for God's command to be issued; lest he be impatient like ZOL-NOON:-
``So wait patiently for the decree of your Lord to be issued, and be not like the companion of the Fish.''
By the ``Companion of the fish'' ``ZOL-NOON'' is intended, the BIBLICAL name for whom is ``Jonah''. A reference is made to JONAH here as an example. He was sent to guide the wicked people of Nineveh, but he was encountered with their obstinate resistance and therefore he fled in despair and anger. Then, he took a boat for a voyage. Due to a fierce storm, the crew had to make the boat lighter, and less burdensome. Lots were cast and the lot fell upon Jonah to be thrown into the sea. He was swallowed by a big whale.
In that dark sea, and darker stomach of the whale he repented and asked for God's Forgiveness, saying:-
``There is no God except you my Lord. Sanctification is only becoming to you. I was of the oppressors.''
JONAH was miraculously delivered from that awful prison of darkness by the Grace of God!
At the meantime, the people of Nineveh too repented and welcomed their prophet (JONAH); and there was a joint venture and joyful submission to the will of God by all. What a prosperous people the became!
