Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 06)
Verses 6-10Verses 1-5

O,YOU,WRAPPED UP!
VERSE NO. 1-5
Here, the title by which Mohammad (SA) is addressed, is neither the Messenger of God, nor the prophet. He is called: ``O you who have wrapped yourself round!'' Then QurÌn is chosen for the text of the night prayer enjoined so seriously; because the Book contains all the necessary lessons and instructions to be learnt.
The night prayers may be incumbent upon the prophet to perform, but it is not an obligatory duty for all Moslims, though it has seriously been enjoined for them to perform it. That is because the night prayer will blot out the sins committed during the day time. For contemplation, prayer and praise, the most suitable time is the night that every thing is calm and quiet.

ABOUT THE TITLE
ALI-IBN-ABRAHIM,ALGHOMI was of opinion that the prophet Mohammad used to wrap up himself in his clothes or cloaks when he slept at night, and hence his title of MOZZAMMIL.
Islamic historians too, have their own narrative about the title. They say:-
``In the first time, when the prophet encountered with the arch angel GABRIEL in the cave of HIRRA, the angel showed him something like a scroll and asked Mohammad to read it. In answer to the angel, the unlettered Man of God who was puzzled, said that he had no knowledge of reading or writing. But the angel shook him, and said again read it! Suddenly, Mohammad found himself able to grasp the words and their meanings!
The first inspiration seemed to the prophet awfully strange, and gave him a very hard shock!
Puzzled and shivering by what he had heard and seen, HAZRAT MOHAMMAD left the cave of HIRRA for home. He came to his beloved wife (HAZRAT KHADIJEH) trembling! He informed her in brief of what had happened, and asked the faithful wife to cover him with a blanket or a rug. She wrapped him up and he layed down. But once again he was inspired like before with another verse saying:-``O, YOU WRAPPED UP! Arise and warn.'' AND HENCE THE TITLE OF WRAPPED.''
