Quran,Translation and Commentary in Brief (Vol. 06)
Verses 1-6Verses 13-19

THAT DAY NO ONE CAN DO AUGHT FOR ANOTHER
VERSE NO. 13-19
The theme of the above passage is the destiny of the righteous and the wicked which will end in Paradise or Hell. There is an important hint in the verse NO. 16:-
``And they are not absent from the Hell!''
This implies that the faithless evil doer is always afflicted with some sort of a punishment which is the consequence of his own deeds. This continues until they reach their destination through the Final Judgement.
He who forgets and neglects his Lord will always have some sort of a difficulty and hardship in his way of living whether here or in the hereafter.
The wicked unbelievers are not far from the Fire of Hell. In their lower material life, they make a Hell of themselves, and when they die, their grave will be a fire place.
They will enter the true Hell in the Day of Doom.''
The good doers may reach some stages of bliss in this life, or after death. The whicked too may be afflicted by a disaster here or in the Hereafter, but it is the Final Judgement which is the general and complete cessation of this fleeting world;and once the period of our probation is past, there will be no more chance for repentance or a return to demand. Then, no soul will have a power to do ought for another.
In our present condition, we can form no true conception of the court of the Final Judgement. We may only speak of the consequences of our actions in the form of getting a reward or being punished. In another phase of the matter, we may believe the incarnation of our deeds in the new world.
